SOHO Robbery, Kidnapping: $3,000 Reward Offered for Information

Crime Stoppers is offering a reward for information that leads to an arrest in a Saturday kidnapping on South Howard Avenue.

TAMPA, FL — As Tampa Police detectives continue to hunt down leads related to a Saturday morning kidnapping and robbery in the SOHO area, Crime Stoppers is offering a reward for tips in the case. Information that leads to an arrest may be worth $3,000.

The crime in question occurred just after 2 a.m. Dec. 3 in the 900 block of South Howard Avenue. According to Tampa Police, a woman who had been out with friends was returning to her vehicle at that time. A man, however, came up behind her, hit her on the head and pushed her into her car and drove away.

The man, police said, proceeded to rob the woman and then left her and her car behind. The woman reported the attack on Saturday. She suffered minor injuries.

The suspect in the case is believed to be a heavyset black male with short hair and a beard. He was last seen wearing a hooded sweatshirt and dark athletic shoes.

Anyone with information in the case is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-TIPS to be eligible for a cash reward. Anonymous tips may also be submitted online at www.crimestopperstb.com.
