Son Charged in Dad’s Stabbing Death

Breaking: Tampa Police say a fist fight between a father and son took a deadly turn Thursday night.

TAMPA, FL — A 23-year-old Tampa man faces second-degree murder charges in the Thursday night stabbing death of his father.

According to the Tampa Police Department, officers were called out to the 2600 block of East 18th Avenue around 8:50 p.m. Nov. 17. When they arrived, they found Damon D. Larry, 43, “suffering from multiple wounds,” an email from the agency said.

Larry was taken to a local hospital, but died from his injuries.

Police say Larry’s son, Damon Timothy Larry, “attacked his father and the two engaged in what appeared to be a fist fight,” the email said. A witness told police the elder Larry attempted to back away, but fell on the ground and the fight continued.

Damon Timothy Larry was brought into custody without incident, police said. He was charged with 2nd degree murder with a weapon.

Damon Timothy Larry was booked into the Hillsborough County Jail. He was being held without bond Friday morning, according to jail records.
