Spaghetti Warehouse Items On the Auction Block

Fans of the old Ybor City Spaghetti Warehouse are being given the opportunity to own a piece of history.

TAMPA, FL — Tampa’s Spaghetti Warehouse location is no more, but that doesn’t mean loyal patrons can’t bring some of their memories home. The eatery’s furniture, restaurant equipment and even décor are now being auctioned off to the highest bidder.

The online auction, via www.RestaurantEquipment.Bid, runs through Tuesday, Oct. 18. Starting bids on all items are set at $1 with no reserves put into place.

“This is a unique opportunity to take a piece of the Spaghetti Warehouse home, whether it is the antique furniture, back of the house equipment or the distinctive décor pieces,” said Neal Sherman, president of RestaurantEquipment.Bid.

Items up for grabs include tables, chairs, kitchen equipment and a host of unusual conversation pieces. The more unique items include an angel disguised as a knight and a working traffic light, Sherman said.

The 1911 13th St. Spaghetti Warehouse closed its doors in early October after plans to move the eatery fell through. The eatery had served the community for about 30 years, operating out of an old cigar factory.

“Today we have made the difficult business decision to announce the permanent closure of the Spaghetti Warehouse Restaurant in Tampa, Florida,” Spaghetti Warehouse Restaurants Inc. wrote in an email announcing the closing.

Back in March, the company announced plans to close the 1911 13th St. location for good. An outcry of support, however, prompted a change of heart with the company later announcing its intention to seek out a new location in the Tampa Bay area.

No such reprieve came this time around.

“Because of the overwhelming response and support we received from the community, we made an emotional decision to continue serving our guests with the hope we could experience a turnaround and find a replacement location,” the company said in September. “However, these events did not happen for us and the decision we have made, at this time, is to proceed with closing this location.”
