Stolen Dump Trucks Worth $1.2M Found In Tampa: Hillsborough Sheriff
A man faces multiple charges in the theft of 8 dump trucks worth about $1.2M, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said.

TAMPA, FL — A man faces multiple charges after eight stolen dump trucks worth about $1.2 million were recovered in Tampa, according to a Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office news release.
Detectives investigating a stolen dump trunk from Duval County went to a business in the 4700 block of North Hubert Avenue on Tuesday and found the suspect, Olansky Marrero, 40, altering the truck’s vehicle identification number.
A search warrant of the property and surrounding properties revealed eight total stolen dump trucks stolen from 2023 to 2025, the sheriff’s office said.

The trucks were stolen from Hillsborough, Duval, Collier, Lee and Palm Beach counties, as well as Georgia and South Carolina. All of the trucks were rebranded with Marrero’s company’s logos.
Marrero faces multiple felony charges, including operating a chop shop, three counts of grand theft and criminal mischief.

"These thefts didn't just hurt business owners from across Florida and the Southeast, but they impacted families, employees, and construction projects," Sheriff Chad Chronister said. "We're committed to those who help build up our community and will come after anyone who tries to tear it down through theft and illegal operations."
