- A Tampa man attempting to cross the street on a busy highway died on Tuesday after being hit by a car while walking on Dale Mabry Highway in Hillsborough County, according to authorities. The driver of the vehicle was not injured in the incident. An investigation is underway into the incident. (Tampa Patch)
- A new Mexican restaurant concept called Streetlight Taco is coming soon to Tampa's Palma Ceia neighborhood, according to Creative Loafing. It will be a partnership between Chef Michael Brannock as well as Jack Murray and Nick Reader from Rocca. The restaurant will be located at 4004 Henderson Blvd. (Creative Loafing Tampa)
- Pasco County School District will receive an increase in funding thanks to a new tax on residents. Funds will increase 10 percent in the upcoming year after an increase in state funding and a voter-approved increase on property taxes. Millions of dollars will be reserved for charter schools and vouchers for private schools, meaning the funds will not necessarily improve the financial condition of the school district. - The race is on to find a new quarterback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Some names being floated include Kyle Trask and Baker Mayfield. Bucs head coach Todd Bowles is leaving his options open for now as practice continues ahead of the upcoming NFL football season. (ABC Action News)
- Tours are back at Bern’s Steakhouse in SoHo that features over 500,000 bottles of wine. The iconic steakhouse reopened this month after a brief closure for renovations. Tours will be booked with restaurant reservations. (Q105.com)
