Local Police Agencies Join Prescription Drug Take-Back Day

Residents will be able to drop off any prescription medications they no longer use and can remain anonymous.

TAMPA, FL - As part of the ongoing effort to crack down on illegal pill mills and prevent prescription drug abuse, law enforcement agencies in Hillsborough County are taking part in the DEA's National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day Initiative.

On Saturday, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, along with the Plant City Police Department, USF police, Tampa Police Department, the Hillsborough County Anti-Drug Alliance and the Drug Enforcement Administration, will collect unused or expired prescription medications from residents to prevent potentially dangerous drugs from getting into the wrong hands. The unused prescription drugs will be collected at six locations on Saturday, Oct. 28 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Residents will be able to drop off any prescription medications they no longer use and can remain anonymous, with no questions asked.
