1. A Tampa man died Friday in a fiery crash on the State Road 574 ramp to I-75. Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) said the incident happened at 9:53 a.m. when a 36-year-old Riverview man who was heading was struck by another driver head on who was headed the wrong direction. Both drivers were hospitalized, but the driver who was headed in the wrong direction died. (Tampa Patch)
2. A certified nurse's assistant (CNA) in Sarasota is being accused of molesting patients at multiple assisted living facilities in the area, according to authorities. An investigation revealed the incident was ongoing for weeks and reports of inappropriate behavior date back to 2016. An affidavit documents incidents at Sarasota Point and Rehab, Manorcare Health Services, Magnolia Health and Rehabilitation Center, Tarpon Point Nursing Rehabilitation Center and Amira Choice Senior Living Facility. 3. An investigation is underway after a man who was accused of shooting and killing a Seffner woman and has been detained by police, according to Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office (HCSO). Police said the incident happened at the 4000 block of Orange Street at around 1 a.m. on Thursday. The suspect has been charged with first-degree premeditated murder. (Tampa Patch, Fox 13)
4. Yard House is coming soon to Water Street Tampa with a planned opening this fall on Monday, Oct. 9. It will be located at 450 Channelside Drive across from Amalie Arena. It will feature bar-inspired eats, vegan food, and over a hundred beers on tap. (Creative Loafing Tampa)
5. Tampa attorney John Lauro has joined former President Donald Trump’s legal team as Trump faces a potential third indictment over accusations of attempting to overturn the election in 2020.
