TAMPA, FL — Tampa Bay area residents and visitors with backyard barbecue and beach plans over the Memorial Day weekend are likely to find the weather most cooperative. While rain doesn’t play a significant role in the forecast for the next few days, forecasters at the National Weather Service say steamy daytime highs should be expected.
Friday is expected to kick things off with sunny skies and a high in the upper 80s. Forecasters anticipate clear overnight conditions with a low in the mid-60s. Rain isn’t a part of the forecast for the close of the week and the kickoff of the holiday weekend.

Sunny skies are expected to make a return on Saturday. Forecasters, however, do anticipate the day’s high will climb into the low 90s in much of the region. A mostly clear night is expected with a low in the low 70s forecast.

Memorial Day Monday is expected to deliver sunny daytime conditions and a high in the low 90s once again. Forecasters expect mostly clear skies and a low in the overnight hours around 75 degrees.
Rain returns to the forecast heading into the short workweek with a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms in Tuesday's forecast. Those rain chances gradually rise as the week continues.
Given the region’s overall lack of rain over the past few months, bans on outdoor burning remain in place in most counties throughout the Tampa Bay area. Residents in most areas can still enjoy their Memorial Day barbecues, but fireworks and other flames may be off limits. To find out more about outdoor burn bans check with your county of residence.
