Tampa Bay Sun FC Ties Dallas 1-1 During Season Opener Game
The debut of the team was attended by over 5,000 people at Tampa's Blake High School Riverfront Stadium off the Tampa Riverwalk.
TAMPA, FL - Tampa Bay Sun FC had a scorching start for its first game on Sunday, Aug. 18, against Dallas Trinity Fc and tied in a 1-1 game. The score for Tampa was made by Brooke Hendrix. The game was attended by over 5,000 people and sold out of tickets leading up to the game at Blake High School's Riverfront Stadium. Fans arrived early and stuck with the team throughout the game.
The sporting event also hosted local food trucks and stands from restaurants including a new food truck from Bern's Steak House and Haven, Green Lane, San Valentino Market, Diggy Dogs, Small Giant, and Salty Sisters.
Official Tampa Bay Sun FC supporter group The Heatwave was present and brought energy to the game with fan chants, drums, and all the other goods you expect at a soccer game. Those interested can find more information about them on Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), and Discord.
