Tampa Bay Weather: Sunshine, But Hazards Remain
Find out what's in store for the Tampa Bay area in the weather department over the week ahead.

TAMPA, FL — As Tampa Bay residents strive to get back into their normal routines post-Hurricane Irma, forecasters at the National Weather Service say they can anticipate sunny skies at least for a few days. That doesn’t mean, however, that hazards don’t remain. Several rivers across the region continue to cause flooding concerns, prompting a Monday morning Hazardous Weather Outlook report to go out.
“Moderate to major river flooding continues along area rivers and creeks in the wake of Hurricane Irma,” forecasters wrote in Monday’s report. “Residents living along rivers or faster flowing streams should remain aware of water levels and be ready to move to higher ground should flooding be observed.” (For more weather or local news from Florida, click here to sign up for real-time news alerts and newsletters from Tampa Patch. While river and creek flooding is a concern, forecasters say the first few days of the workweek should be blissfully dry in much of the Tampa Bay area. Although a few drops of rain may fall in some parts of the region, strong storm chances are not anticipated Monday through Wednesday. Weather service forecasters expect all three days to bring highs in the low-90s with overnight lows in the low-70s.
