Two men were killed Monday morning in a crash on Morris Bridge Road in Hillsborough County. The crash occurred near the Pasco County line about 7 a.m. and both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene. Howard Hawkins Jr., 50, of Zephyrhills was headed southbound on Morris Bridge Road in a white Kia Forte when he crossed the center line and crashed head-on into a Ford Fusion. The Fusion was driven by 38-year-old Marcellus Shackelford, who was headed north. Shackelford was a Wesley Chapel High School math teacher and was on his way to school, Pasco County Schools reported on social media. The Tampa Police Department released a new video Thursday of a "person of interest" in the investigation of a gunman responsible for three shooting deaths in Seminole Heights. It is the second video of the "person of interest" in the case. The new video shows the person in the area where the first shooting happened. On Oct. 9, Benjamin Mitchell was shot and died from his wounds. Police, as they have for several days now, are asking that anyone who might know the person to come forward. Will the Tampa Bay Rays be playing baseball games near Ybor City in the coming years? Hillsborough Commissioner Ken Hagan thinks so. A 33-year-old carjacking suspect was shot and killed by police Wednesday morning after exchanging gunfire with officers, a police spokesperson said.
