Tampa City Hall All-Clear Given

TAMPA, FL — Update June 1, 7:57 p.m.: The Tampa Bomb Squad has given an all-clear following the discovery of an unattended package near city hall Thursday night. Authorities have not yet said what the package contained.

Earlier: As the Tampa Bomb Squad investigates the Thursday night discovery of an unattended package in the 300 block of East Jackson Street, motorists are being advised to stay away from City Hall.

According to the Tampa Police Department, the package’s discovery has forced the evacuation of City Hall. Jackson Street between Tampa and Florida Avenue was also shut down to traffic as of 6:53 p.m. June 1.

No further information is available at this time.
