Tampa Hit-And-Run Under Investigation

Troopers are looking for a Nissan Altima that was involved in a hit-and-run crash on I-4 Tuesday.

TAMPA, FL — The Florida Highway Patrol is asking folks to keep an eye out for a blue Nissan Altima that has likely hood damage following a Tuesday hit-and-run crash on Interstate 4.

According to troopers, Carmen Ayala, 56, of Tampa was stopped for traffic along westbound I-4 near milepost one around 2:10 p.m. April 4. Troopers say as Ayala was waiting on traffic, a blue Nissan Altima crashed into the rear end of her Honda Accord.

Following the crash, the Altima took off southbound on Interstate 275. The Nissan’s hood was “ajar and obstructing the windshield,” a highway patrol report said.
