Tampa Homicide Under Investigation

TAMPA, FL — An early Sunday morning homicide is under investigation by Tampa Police.

According to the agency, officers were called out to the 1900 block of West Union Street just before 8:30 a.m. April 23. When they arrived, they found Darrius Jaquan Harris mortally wounded. Harris was taken to a local hospital, but died from his injuries.

Police are not releasing further details in the case, including how Harris was injured. They have, however, classified the death as a homicide.

Detectives “are following up on leads, but the information is very limited,” a Sunday afternoon email from the police department said.
