Tampa Man Indicted In Fentanyl Overdose Death
The indictment charges Telvin O. Wright, 26, of Tampa with distribution of a mixture of cocaine and fentanyl resulting in an overdose death.
TAMPA, FL — United States Attorney Roger B. Handberg announced the return of an indictment charging Telvin O. Wright, 26, of Tampa with distribution of a mixture of cocaine and fentanyl resulting in an overdose death, and with possession with the intent to distribute fentanyl.
If convicted, Wright faces a minimum mandatory penalty of 20 years up to life in federal prison for the distribution of fentanyl resulting in death, and up to 20 years in prison for the possession with intent to distribute charge.
The indictment also notifies Wright that the United States plans to seize any assets traceable to the offenses.

According to the indictment, on Feb. 9, 2022, Wright distributed a mixture of cocaine and fentanyl to a person who died after taking it. On Feb. 11, 2022, Wright was arrested and charged with possessing fentanyl with the intent to distribute it.
This case was investigated by the FBI and the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office. It will be prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Maria Guzman.
