Breaking: A man was shot following a Tuesday morning burglary in Tampa. Police say the victim's dad fired the round.

TAMPA, FL — A 23-year-old Tampa man has been hospitalized with a gunshot wound after police say he was caught in the act of burglarizing a home.
According to the Tampa Police Department, Jordan King, 25, was away from her North B Street home Tuesday morning when she received an alert from her alarm company. It seems the motion sensor on the system had been tripped.
King proceeded to watch the surveillance feed online and saw a man going through her bedroom with socks on his hands, an email form the police department said. King notified police and contacted her father, Jerry King, 54, who lives nearby. Jordan King provided both police and her dad with a description of the suspect, the email said.
