Tampa Named 7th Best Place to Celebrate Oktoberfest

TAMPA, FL — Tampa Bay area residents looking to celebrate the impending arrival of fall by attending lively Oktoberfest events are likely to find they’re in the right place to do so. The city has been named the 7th best in the country for revelers looking to celebrate Oktoberfest.

Those findings come from a new study released by WalletHub, the website dedicated to all things personal finance related. The site’s number crunchers stacked up 100 of America’s biggest cities based on 20 different key metrics to create the rankings.

Tampa’s high marks were awarded based on these factors and more:

• Average price for Oktoberfest festival and party tickets – 2nd place
• Number of pretzel shops per capita – 6th place
• Number of Oktoberfest festival and parties per capita – 14th place
• Number of breweries per capita – 10th place

Cincinnati, Ohio, came in first place in WalletHub’s study followed closely by Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Florida was well-represented in the Top 10 with Orlando earning fifth-place honors and Miami eighth.

Fremont, California, came in 100th place with Memphis, Tennessee, just in front of it.
