Tampa Ranks Among Best Places for Coffee Lovers: Study

Celebrating National Coffee Day 2016 should be easy for folks in the Tampa Bay area. Tampa is ranked the 13th best place for coffee lovers.

TAMPA, FL — From steaming cups of café con leche served up in Ybor City to cappuccinos available at neighborhood coffee shops that dot the region, Tampa is a great place to be if you’re a coffee lover.

That’s the conclusion WalletHub came to when it sat down in honor National Coffee Day (Sept. 29) to rank 100 of the country’s largest cities based on factors that matter to coffee lovers.

“To determine the best cities for partaking in America’s coffee culture, WalletHub’s number crunchers compared the 100 largest cities across 12 key metrics, ranging from ‘number of coffee shops, coffee house and cafes per capita’ to ‘average price of a coffee pack,’” explained WalletHub’s Diana Popa. When all was said and done, Tampa ranked 13th overall, according to the website that’s dedicated to all things personal finance.

Not surprisingly, Portland Oregon, and Seattle, Washington, earned the number one and two places, respectively. Orlando came in at fifth place with Miami at 20 and St. Petersburg at 36. While Tampa didn't quite beat out Orlando, it did rank right above Atlanta's 14th place in WalletHub's 2016's Best Cities for Coffee Lovers report.

Tampa’s placement in the study’s Top 15 was bolstered by such factors as:
