- A Tampa resident has been sentenced to 12 years and seven months in federal prison for possession with the intent to distribute fentanyl and methamphetamine. The resident pleaded guilty on Nov. 29. The case was investigated by the FBI and the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO). (Tampa Patch)
- Kura Sushi is coming to Tampa's Westshore neighborhood this year at 214 Westshore Plaza. The growing conveyor belt sushi chain has signed a 10-year lease, according to Ripco Real Estate. Kura Sushi currently has over 500 locations around the globe. (That's So Tampa)
- A dead body was found in a creek in Gibsonton on Sunday, according to authorities. Police said the body was a drowning victim at Bull Frog Creek. The identity of the victim is not known as of Monday afternoon. (WFLA)
- The Celtic Culture Festival is coming to downtown Tampa this Friday, April 21 at the Straz Center's Riverwalk stage. It will showcase Celtic traditional dancing, music, and art with live entertainment. The free event is supported partly by the Joy McCann Foundation. (ABC Action News)
- AdventHealth Wellness Center in Wesley Chapel recently honored 100-year-old Roy Caldwood with an honorary membership. Caldwood is a retired military veteran who served as in World War II as a U.S. Army Buffalo Soldier. He keeps in shape at AdventHealth Wellness and also at home. (WFLA)
