Here are the top five stories in Tampa today:

1. Renters seek help from leaders: The Tampa City Council voted 6-1 to approve first reading of its "tenant's bill of rights" as renters face a crippling spike in rent prices. City of Tampa City Attorney Morris Massey says the bill is identical to what was adopted by Hillsborough County last year. Councilman Charlie Miranda was the only no vote on the bill. 2. A new mural at Macfarlane Park in West Tampa called "Measured" features boxing, a sport that was popular in historic West Tampa for a long time. The mural was created by artists Edgar Sanchez Cumbas and Jay Giroux. It showcases boxing legends Dr. Fernando "Ferdie" Pacheco and Joe "King" Roman. (Tampa Patch)

3. The neighborhood fight in South Tampa continues over preserving grand oak trees on the former Kojak's House of Ribs property. The developer wants the oak trees removed, but neighbors say the trees are crucial for things like flood mitigation and shade. (Fox 13 Tampa)

4. Two women are facing felony charges after police said they went to a man’s apartment in Clearwater and started throwing glitter at him during an argument. Both women threw a container of glitter at the victim during the argument, according to police. The arrest affidavits stated that the man was hit in the head and torso. (WFLA)

5. ZooTampa is filling more than 50 part- and full-time jobs in guest services, retail, rides, food and beverage, and security on Wednesday, January 19th at its job fair. The organization will be hiring for non-animal-care positions only. (That's So Tampa)
