Tampa Women Trapped In Mexico After Scooter Crash, Mom Says: Report
Maria Ortega told WTVT her daughter and her daughter's partner were on a Carnival cruise when the accident happened in Cozumel.
TAMPA, FL — Two Tampa women were stranded in Mexico this week after the pair were involved in a scooter accident in Cozumel while on a Carnival cruise, their family told WTVT.
Maria Ortega told the news station her daughter, Natalia, and Natalia's partner, Ashley, were involved in a hit-and-run crash and taken to a hospital. According to Ortega, the couple never re-boarded the cruise ship and are now stuck in Mexico, injured and without passports.
"I need my babies home," Ortega told WTVT. "Please help me get them home. I don't care if I have to get a passport. I need them home. I need them home."
