Here are the top five stories today in Tampa:
1. Tampa Police Department has arrested a man and recovered a firearm that was shot into the air during a fight behind 7th and Grove, located at 1930 East 7th Avenue, Sunday night. During the fight, a man pulled out a handgun and shot four rounds into the air. (Tampa Patch)
2. One of Tampa's most prolific condo developers has filed a legal petition against the city of Tampa, accusing staff of withholding public records and demanding the issuance of a demolition permit so it can proceed with a 55-story tower at 520 North Tampa Street that a historic preservation committee is attempting to block. (Subscription: Tampa Bay Business Journal)
3. St. Petersburg Museum Of History will host a "Pride Perspective: Past & Future" panel next week on Tuesday, June 28 - moderated by St. Pete's LGBTQ+ Liaison Jim Nixon. The program starts at 6 p.m. at the Museum of History located on the St. Pete Pier. Admission is a $5 suggested donation, and a full-service cash bar will be provided. (Creative Loafing Tampa)
4. Nebraska Mini Mart has been on the corner of Nebraska and East Louisiana avenues since the 1950s. Rooster & The Till owners, Ferrell Alvarez and Ty Rodriguez, re-opened the location as an outdoor family-friendly restaurant three years ago, while keeping the same style. (ABC Action News)
5. On Monday morning, City of Tampa Mayor Jane Castor unveiled the first of 17 single-family homes built during Phase II of the City of Tampa's Infill Housing Program. Home prices in Tampa rose faster than anywhere in the country over the past year as an affordable housing crisis deepens locally. (WFLA)
