Niche determined the best counties in each state by analyzing public schools, cost of living, job opportunities and more.

FLORIDA — Florida has 67 counties, and a recent ranking by Niche has revealed which ones are the best to live in.

Niche, which provides information and rankings on schools and places to live, determined the best counties in each state by analyzing public schools, cost of living, job opportunities and local amenities.

Rankings were compiled using county data from the U.S. Census Bureau, Bureau of Labor Statistics, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and other sources.

St. Johns County is considered the best county in Florida, according to Niche.

St. Johns County is home to more than 292,000 people and is located on Florida's northeast coast. The county is known for its rich history and is the home to the nation's oldest city, St. Augustine.

St. Johns County received an overall A+ grade from Niche. It also received A+ marks for jobs and being good for families. The county's lowest grade was a B for diversity.

Coming in at No. 2 was Seminole County. Home to nearly 475,000 people and located just north of Orlando, Seminole County offers quaint towns and neighborhoods, and a plethora of leisure activities.

Seminole County received an overall A+ grade from Niche. It also received A+ marks for public schools and being good for families. The county's lowest grade was a B for housing and jobs.

Finally, Leon County came in at No. 3 on Niche's list. Home to more than 295,000 people and located in Florida's panhandle, Leon County is home to the capital city, Tallahassee, and houses two of Florida's major public universities, Florida State University and Florida A&M University.

Leon County received an overall A+ grade from Niche. It also received a top mark for being good for families. The county's lowest grade was a B for housing and jobs.

  • No. 5: Hillsborough County, A+
  • No. 6: Sarasota County, A+
  • No. 12: Pinellas County, A
  • No. 23: Manatee County, A-
  • No. 26: Pasco County, B+
  • No. 47: Polk County, B
