Thieves Swiped $7,000 in Eyeglasses, Cops Say
A reward of up to $3,000 is being offered for information that leads to an arrest of three accused thieves.
TAMPA, FL — The Tampa Police Department is asking folks to keep an eye out for three thieves wanted in an unusual crime. The thieves are accused of stealing more than $7,000 worth of eyeglasses.
The crime in question occurred just before midnight Oct. 3. According to Crime Stoppers of Tampa Bay, three people backed up in a newer model white Dodge van outside the front door of Patterson Eye Center, 2917 Kennedy Blvd. Once the van was in place, the three are accused of prying their way inside.
Armed with plastic garbage bags, the thieves proceeded to swipe eyeglasses from the business, Crime Stoppers wrote in an email to media. With bags loaded, they took off in the van.

Anyone with information in the case is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-TIPS. Information that leads to an arrest could be worth up to $3,000.
