CASINO BOAT FIRE: A 42-year-old casino shuttle boat passenger died at a local hospital while being treated for injuries she suffered when the boat became engulfed in flames near Port Richey. Fifty passengers and the crew were forced to jump overboard as the vessel was destroyed by the fire. The woman was identified by the Pinellas-Pasco Medical Examiner's Office as Carrie Dempsey, a 42-year-old mother of two from Lutz. The fire began just after leaving Port Richey about 4 p.m. Sunday and the boat was about 100 yards from land when it became engulfed in flames, officials said. STRAWBERRY FESTIVAL CONCERTS: The Florida Strawberry Festival has had a few changes to its concert lineup since the musical acts were first announced. DNCE canceled the group's performance at the 2018 event. The group was scheduled to perform on opening night of the 11-day event, helping to introduce festival visitors to the newly constructed grandstand seating. HALLADAY AUTOPSY: Former Major League pitcher Roy Halladay had traces of morphine in his system at the time of his fatal plane crash, according to an autopsy report. FSU HAZING: Nine men are facing hazing charges in the death of a Florida State University fraternity pledge, Tallahassee police said Tuesday. Arrest warrants were signed Tuesday by a Leon County judge for Luke E. Kluttz and Clayton M. Muehlstein, both 22; Brett A. Birmingham and Anthony Petagine, both 20; and Conner R. Ravelo, Christopher M. Hamlin, Anthony Oppenheimer, John B. Ray and Kyle J. Bauer. Two of the men are from the Tampa Bay area.
