The Costa Rica plane crash that claimed the lives of two Clearwater doctors and their teenage children was the top story of the week on Tampa Bay Patch sites. COSTA RICA CRASH: Two Clearwater physicians and their two teenage children are among 12 dead in a New Year's Eve sightseeing plane crash in Costa Rica, according to multiple reports. TEEN CLUB SHOOTING: A 15-year-old girl and a 25-year-old man were shot and killed by security guards outside a teen club at 5809 North 50th St. on Monday night, Hillsborough County sheriff's deputies said. Authorities said the security guards feared for their lives when they saw someone firing a weapon from a car and they both returned fire. The bodies of 15-year-old Julissa D. GIRL HIT BY TRAIN: A 11-year-old girl was killed when she attempted to cross railroad tracks and was hit by an Amtrak passenger train about 4:45 p.m. Wednesday. Yazmin White of Haines City was wearing headphones and looking down at her phone as the train approached, the conductor told Polk County Sheriff's detectives.
