Tractor Trailer Hits Standing Water, Drives Off I75: FL Highway Patrol
The truck hit standing water caused by recent rains on I-75 in Hillsborough County and drove through a guardrail, FL Highway Patrol said.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL — A tractor trailer truck drove off Interstate 75 after traveling through standing water early Wednesday morning, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release.
The state has been pummeled with heavy rains and bad storms since Monday night as the first tropical disturbance of the 2024 Atlantic hurricane season moved northeast across Florida.
The truck, driven by a 43-year-old Jacksonville man, was heading north on I-75, just north of Interstate 4, at the time he lost control, just before 1:30 a.m., FHP said.

The driver lost control after hitting the standing water caused by recent heavy rains, causing his truck to jackknife, enter the median and hit a guardrail.
He was uninjured in the crash, the agency said.
