USF Football Player Accused Of Strangling Person During Fight: Sheriff
Running back Michel Dukes Jr., 22, was charged with one felony count of domestic violence by strangulation.

TAMPA, FL — A University of South Florida football player has been charged with domestic violence after the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said he attempted to strangle another person.
Deputies received a call from the victim on Saturday reporting a verbal argument with Michel Dukes Jr., 22, of Grenadine Drive, Tampa, in the 4300 block of Shire Court in northwest Tampa. The victim said the argument escalated and Dukes began strangling the victim, deputies said.
Dukes attends USF full-time and is a running back on the Bulls football team.

"I applaud this victim for coming forward," said Sheriff Chad Chronister. "We do not tolerate domestic violence. There is never a reason or excuse for this type of behavior. Our victim advocates will ensure this individual gets connected with any and all resources.”
Dukes was charged with one felony count of domestic violence by strangulation. He was released from jail on a $2,000 surety bond.
