Val Kilmer Joins Tampa Bay Comic Con Lineup

Val Kilmer of 'Batman Forever' and 'Tombstone' fame will appear at this summer's Tampa Bay Comic Con.

TAMPA, FL — Val Kilmer has added his name to the list of celebrities set to make appearances at this summers’ Tampa Bay Comic Con. Event organizers announced his addition to the lineup Tuesday morning.

Kilmer is best known for playing Batman in “Batman Forever” and Doc Holliday in “Tombstone.” Longtime fans also recognize him as Iceman from “Top Gun,” Nick Rivers in “Top Secret” and Madmartigan from “Willow.”

Other celebrities lined up for the July 28-30 event at the Tampa Convention Center, 333 S. Franklin St., include Kate Beckinsale of “Underworld” fame, Nichelle Nichols from “Star Trek,” Renee O’Connor from “Xena: Warrior Princess” and Allison Mack of “Smallville.” Appearances will also be made by a number of comic book artists and writers.

Kilmer will be available for autographs and photo opportunities on Saturday and Sunday only. The cost is $80 each with only cash accepted. Beckinsale is the only other celebrity fetching $80 for pictures and autographs. She’s set to appear on Saturday only.

Tickets for Tampa Bay Comic Con are on sale now via the event’s website. Children 12 and under are free. The cost for adults is $60 for three-day admission; $30 for Friday admission; $40 for Saturday admission and $30 for Sunday admission tickets.
