Bicyclist, 53, Critical After Nebraska Avenue Crash
A Tampa man suffered critical injuries in a Monday crash on Nebraska Avenue.

TAMPA, FL — The Tampa Police Department is investigating a Monday crash involving a vehicle and a bicycle that sent a man to the hospital with critical injuries.
According to the agency, Michael Peeples, 53, was riding a bike southbound on North Nebraska Avenue, just north of East Crawford Avenue, around noon April 3. Peeples, police say, attempted to make a left turn into the Tampa Metro Clinic, but rode into the path of a 2005 Nissan Maxima that was headed south.
Peeples, an email from the agency said, was struck by the Nissan's front bumper and windshield.

"The impact caused extensive damage to the vehicle and serious injury to Peeples, who was transport to St. Joseph's Hospital, where he has been listed in critical condtiion," the email said.
The crash closed lanes in the area for approximately two hours Monday afternoon.

No charges have been announced. Police have not released the name of the motorist involved.
