1. Walmart Supercenter located at 8220 N. Dale Mabry Highway reopened on Friday, following the completion of the much-anticipated project. A grand reopening event was held with festivities. "Our customers will see a big change with this remodel. Our store will be easier to navigate and we will now have more parking spaces in our Online Grocery Pick Up," said Vanna Reyes, North Dale Mabry Walmart store manager. (Lutz Patch)
2. A Charter Review Workshop is set for Monday, May 23 where Tampa City Council could adjust city law to allow Citizen's Review Board changes to be decided on a ballot. A new poll shows that over 80% of voters in Tampa want the opportunity to weigh in on whether the police Citizens Review Board should have independent counsel and subpoena power. 3. If today were Election Day, Jane Castor would earn a second term as City of Tampa Mayor. According to an internal poll obtained by Florida Politics, 58% of Tampa voters said they would back the incumbent Democrat when she's on the ballot during next year’s municipal elections. Two-thirds of those polled also said they find her favorable on a personal level. (Florida Politics)
4. Mochinut, a popular dessert shop, is planning a Florida expansion. Its latest announcement will bring the delicious treats to the Tampa region. It is set to debut in June at 11401 N 56th Street. (That's So Tampa)
5. Enjoy a piece of Italy in South Tampa at Joe and Son's Olive Oils. "The original Joe and Son’s market or grocery store started in Ybor City in 1938 by my great grandfather and his son and my grandparents took it over," Andrea Messina, owner of Joe and Son's, said. (ABC Action News)
