Watch: Hillary Clinton's Rally in Tampa, Florida

Breaking: Hillary Clinton's rally at the University of South Florida campus took place Tuesday afternoon.

TAMPA, FL — Hillary Clinton took the stage at the University of South Florida’s Student Recreation Center Tuesday afternoon as she looks to close a gap that has opened up in polling with Republican challenger Donald Trump.

Clinton was suffering a two-point deficit in the latest national poll released Tuesday by CNN/ORC. Pollsters say 45 percent of those likely to vote on Nov. 8 favor Trump to Clinton’s 43 percent. Gary Johnson, the Libertarian nominee, earned 7 percent of the vote, while Green Party nominee Jill Stein held only 2 percent. However, pollsters say Clinton still remains in the lead among all registered voters at 44 percent to Trump’s 41 percent.

Clinton’s sizable point lead garnered after July’s Democratic National Convention has slowly been chipped away as scandals continue to rock her campaign. Controversy about her use of a private email server during her time as secretary of state continues to swirl. New information about the relationship between the Clinton Foundation and her work as secretary of state has also come to light, chipping away at her lead in the process.

During her Tampa stop, Clinton is expected to “discuss her plans to keep our nation safe, including by working with our allies," an email from her campaign said. She also intends to outline why "Donald Trump doesn’t have the temperament to serve as commander in chief."
