Weatherford Capital Leases 10,000 Square Feet In Water Street Tampa
Water Street Tampa's high-rise, Thousand & One, has attracted Tampa's largest private equity firm.

TAMPA, FL — Water Street Tampa developer Strategic Property Partners LLC announced that Weatherford Capital, Tampa’s largest private equity firm, has signed a lease at Thousand & One office tower.
Weatherford Capital has committed to nearly 10,000 square feet on the building’s 12th floor and will relocate from its current downtown Tampa office on North Tampa Street. This deal comes on the heels of Thousand & One signing a 10,000-square-foot lease with Northern Trust Corp. in August.
“As workplace needs evolve and companies strive to bring employees back to the office, Water Street Tampa enhances those efforts by providing a unique office experience with a wide variety of amenities that promotes wellness and offers our tenants access to an array of walkable, outdoor spaces, top restaurants and first-class hotels for entertaining clients — like the newly opened Tampa EDITION,” said David Bevirt, executive vice president of corporate leasing and strategy for SPP.

"To attract and build a world-class team, we need to be located in a world-class office building where our valued colleagues can take full advantage of the incredible attributes that Tampa offers,” said Will Weatherford, managing partner for Weatherford Capital. “We are inspired by the vision of Water Street Tampa and look forward to being part of that ecosystem. Thousand & One and Water Street Tampa bring a standard of excellence and excitement that we strive to provide at Weatherford Capital.”
In addition to signing a lease with Weatherford Capital, Thousand & One also recently welcomed Walker & Dunlop as an office tenant. Walker & Dunlop employees have moved into a 5,313-square-foot office on the fourth floor of Thousand & One after relocating from 501 E Kennedy Blvd., doubling its office footprint.
In addition to flexible floorplates with floor-to-ceiling windows and double-height terraces, the office tower features a shared rooftop terrace and open-air conference room, employee fitness center, town hall meeting space, adjacent plaza with a custom public art installation by renowned artist Jim Campbell and several ground-floor food and beverage retailers, including Naked Farmer and Boulon Brasserie.
The tower is WiredScore Platinum-certified — the first office building in the Tampa region to achieve this designation — representing its best-in-class digital connectivity powered by an advanced wired and wireless network developed by GigaMonster Networks. The 20-story, Cookfox-designed office tower is also LEED Silver-certified and anticipates receiving WELL Core and Shell certification, another first for the region.
The tower is also home to companies including ReliaQuest, Northern Trust Corporation, Sila Realty Trust, Synovus, RSM and Suffolk Construction.
