Westshore Pizza, Villa Italian Kitchen Cited By Health Inspectors
Cracked floor tiles and a broken ice bucket are a few of the violations found recently at Hillsborough County restaurants.
HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL – Cracked floor tiles, a broken ice bucket and food held at unsafe temperatures are some of the violations that Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation inspectors found recently in Tampa-area restaurants.
Westshore Pizza XVII, 11212 W. Hillsborough Ave., Tampa, was cited for 10 violations on June 7, including floor tiles cracked, broken or in disrepair in dining area; duct tape used to repair nonfood-contact surface in freezer; and ice chute on self-service drink machine soiled with buildup of mold-like substance/slime.
South Philly Steaks And Fries, 2382 Grand Cypress Drive (Tampa Premium Outlets), was cited for eight violations on June 6, including broken ice bucket; handwash sink not accessible for employee use due to plastic pans stored in the sink; and soiled reach-in cooler gaskets.

Villa Italian Kitchen, 2382 Grand Cypress Drive, Space 989, Lutz, was cited for seven violations on June 6, including meatballs and chicken held at less than 135 degrees Fahrenheit (corrective action taken); gaskets with slimy/mold-like buildup in cooler; and cut leafy greens and tomatoes held at greater than 41 degrees Fahrenheit (corrective action taken, moved to cooler).
In the last 30 days, 105 Hillsborough County restaurants did not pass the first inspection while 199 restaurants aced the first visit. For more details on Hillsborough County restaurant inspections, click here.

The inspectors made note of six Tampa restaurants that passed inspections during the past week without any violations: Hungry Greek, 808 N. Franklin St., Ste 107B; Southern Munchies, 540 S. 50th St.; Glorious Pies, 11110 Elmfield Drive; Tree Dog Roots & Salsa, 512 E. Emily St.; Pokeworks 004, 2223 N. West Shore Blvd., Ste 230-B; and Forbici Modern Italian, 1633 W. Snow Ave.
