Woman Killed While Attempting To Cross West Hillsborough Avenue

TAMPA, FL — A woman has died after being hit by a car Friday morning on West Hillsborough Avenue and North Church Street in Tampa.

According to Tampa police, at 8:24 a.m. a driver struck a woman, causing the westbound traffic at West Hillsborough Avenue to close for several hours while the accident was investigated.

The woman was taken to the hospital where she died.

The driver remained at the scene.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
