Ybor City Building Under Renovation Catches Fire; No Injuries Reported

TAMPA, FL — Tampa Fire Rescue crews responded to a reported structure fire in the 2200 block of East 7th Avenue around 4:45am on Friday.

The first arriving crews found heavy smoke and flames coming from the front of a commercial building that appeared to be under renovation. Firefighters made entry into the structure to extinguish the fire and perform a search of the building.

Firefighters were able to contain the fire in under 15 minutes. There were no reported injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation by Tampa Fire Marshal's Office investigators.
