2 Arrested For Dumping Sick Dogs At FL Park: Police

Two people were arrested after dumping at least 11 dogs sick with parvovirus at a Largo park, police said.

LARGO, FL — Two people were arrested Friday for dumping 11 dogs sick with the parvovirus at Taylor Park on Dec. 19, Largo police said in a news release.

The abandoned animals included nine puppies and two adult female dogs, police said.

The dogs were taken to a local animal hospital for evaluation after they were found and a vet realized they were sick.

The dogs are now being cared for by Pawlicious Poochie Pet Rescue, which said on social media that a 12th dog that was rescued with the others died from its illness.

Investigators learned that suspects Mary Ann Halahuni Gamble, 42, and Fred Gamble, 43, have been illegally breeding dogs, and knew that some of the litter were sick and died after being sold, police said.

They each face 12 counts of felony animal cruelty charges.
