1 Tampa Man Dead, 1 Critical After St. Pete Shooting
Breaking: Two Tampa men were shot in a car on St. Pete's 9th Avenue North Tuesday night. One has since died.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — St. Petersburg Police are investigating a shooting that left one Tampa man dead and another in critical condition.
According to the agency, the shooting was reported just before 11 p.m. Tuesday in the 3700 block of 9th Avenue North. Police were told two men were inside a car when they were shot, an email from the agency said.
When officers arrived, they found both men suffering from gunshot wounds. The victims were taken to Bayfront Health for treatment, police said. One of the men, Mark Pointer, 25, died at 10:18 a.m. Wednesday.

The other victim has been identified as Julius Buchanan, 28, of Tampa. He remained in critical condition Wednesday, police said.
A St. Petersburg man has been charged in connection with the shootings. Authorities say Neville Allen Chambers, 21, has been charged with first-degree murder. Police are actively searching for a second suspect in the shootings, the agency said.
