1 Man Airlifted To Local Trauma Unit Following St. Pete Bar Shooting, 1 Other Injured

ST. PETE, FL — Police have begun investigating a shooting at a St. Petersburg bar on 34th Street North that occurred early Wednesday morning, a St. Pete police news release said.

Two men were in a fight at Jimmy's Sports Bar in the 3500 block of 34th Street North just after midnight when both men got shot. Following the shooting, a medical helicopter took one man to a local trauma hospital, and an ambulance took the other man to a local hospital, detectives said.

Medical staff last told police that the victims have non-life-threatening injuries.

St. Pete Police Information Officer Ken Knight told Patch in an email that details of what led to the shooting and who is accused of the shootings are still under investigation.
