4th Street Road Repair Work Starts In New Year
During the 4th Street construction starting Jan. 9, there will be some lane, on-street parking closures, the city of St. Petersburg said.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — Starting Jan. 9, sections of 4th Street will be under construction for road repairs and safety improvements.
This project, owned by the Florida Department of Transportation, will construct curb bulb-outs at 10 intersections along 4th Street between 5th Avenue North and 5th Avenue South to improve pedestrian safety, the city of St. Petersburg said in a news release.
The work will also include milling and resurfacing, sidewalk, drainage improvements, pedestrian signals, signing and pavement marking. Construction is expected to be completed by early 2024.

During construction, there will be temporary lane closures and pedestrian and bicycle detours.
Drivers and pedestrians will still be able to access businesses and residences throughout the project, though there will be a temporary closure of some on-street parking.
