ST. PETERSBURG, FL — The Philadelphia Eagles will take on the Kansas City Chiefs for the big game in New Orleans on Sunday, Feb. 9, and it's not too early to scout the best places to watch here in St. Petersburg.
If you want someone else to make the snacks or serve the beer, several sports bars in St. Petersburg are primed for the handoff. Kickoff in New Orleans is at 6:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on Feb. 9, but you’ll want to get to your favorite spot earlier.

- Ferg’s Sports Bar & Grill, 1320 Central Ave. Catch the big game from this Edge District sports bar.
- Dog Bar St. Pete, 2300 Central Ave. Watch the big game at this dog bar, which also hosts the Woofball Puppy Bowl earlier in the day from 2 to 6 p.m., before kickoff time. The event offers an afternoon of mini football games, adoptable pups and drinks.
- Salty Nun, 2501 Central Ave. The band Mixed Signal performs 2 to 6 p.m. before kickoff in this double celebration — part big game party and viewing, and part three-year anniversary of this bar and restaurant.
- Slizzy McGee’s, 1159 62nd Ave. N. The party kicks off at 5:30 p.m. and prizes and giveaways will be offered throughout the game.
- Speakeasy Central, 2101 Central Ave. This kava and kratom bar will also host its first-ever Super Bowl Chili Cook-Offstarting at 5 p.m. The grand prize winners get 50 percent off their bar tab.
