Arrest Made In Fatal Shooting Of Driver With 1-Year-Old In Car: St. Pete Police

A 20-year-old was charged with murder in the fatal shooting of a man driving with a 1-year-old girl in his car, St. Petersburg police said.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A man was arrested more than a week after the fatal shooting of a driver who had a 1-year-old in his car at the time of his death, St. Petersburg police said.

Jamal Black, 20, was charged with murder in the second degree and four counts of violation of felony probation.

Tyrone Howard, 21, was shot while driving near the 2900 block of Emerson Avenue South on Sept. 7 just after 2 p.m., police said.

He crashed into a parked car at Robco Transmission & Auto at 3101 Emerson Ave. S.

Howard was brought to Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital, where he died from his injuries, police said.

The 1-year-old girl in his car was uninjured.
