If You Know The Identity Of Driver Who Hit Bicyclist, Contact St. Pete Police
St. Pete police have begun investigating a Sunday crash that sent a man to a local hospital after a vehicle knocked him off his bike.
ST. PETERSBURG, FL — Update: The vehicle accused of being involved in a hit-and-run crash involving a bicyclist early Sunday morning has been identified as a 1999-2004 Nissan Xterra, St. Pete authorities said.
The Xterra has damage to the right front side and a missing antenna. The color of the Xterra has not been released.
Police have released the identity of the victim, Carl Budinsky, a 43-year-old man who was last reported as in critical condition by medical staff at Bayshore Hospital.

Budinksy rode an electric Ancheer Cross County bicycle eastbound in the 7800 block of 38th Avenue North when the Xterra hit him from behind at about 4:30 a.m. The driver immediately drove away, officers said.

A 43-year-old bicyclist is in critical condition after a vehicle hit him from behind early Sunday morning, St. Pete police said.
The vehicle and the bicycle headed in the eastbound direction on 38th Avenue North at about 4:45 a.m., police said.
At about 78th Street North, the vehicle hit the bicyclist and then drove away, according to investigators.
There is no description of the vehicle as of Monday morning.
*St. Pete police will not release the name of the victim because of Marsy's Law.
