Bicyclist Critically Injured In St. Pete Crash
A Monday night crash on 62nd Avenue North sent a bicyclist to the hospital with critical injuries.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — The St. Petersburg Police Department is investigating a Monday night crash that sent a bicyclist to the hospital with critical injuries.
According to police, Stephanie Nichole Brown, 26, of St. Petersburg was driving a Cadillac west on 62nd Avenue North around 9:21 p.m. Sept. 18. As Brown moved west through the intersection of 16th Street North, police say the male bicyclist began crossing 62nd Avenue North from north to south. “The bicyclist rode into the path of the oncoming Cadillac and was struck,” an email from the police department said. The male, who wasn’t wearing a helmet, was thrown from the bike, onto the vehicle and over its roof, the email said.

Police have not released the name of the bicyclist, nor have they said how old he is. The bicyclist was taken to Bayfront Health with critical injuries.
No charges have been announced in the crash. Further information is not being released at this time.
