Bicyclist Dies After St. Pete Crash
A man injured in a Sept. 18 bicycle crash on 62nd Avenue North has died from his injuries.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — The St. Petersburg Police Department has announced the death of a 51-year-old man following a crash on 62nd Avenue North last week.
According to the police department, Mark William Napier succumbed to his injuries on Sept. 23 at 5:43 p.m. The crash that led to Napier’s death occurred just before 9:30 p.m. Sept. 18 as Stephanie Nichole Brown, 26, was driving west on 62nd Avenue North in a Cadillac. Police say Brown entered the intersection of 16th Street North under a solid green light. Napier was headed across 62nd Avenue North in a crosswalk that was under a red signal, an email from the police department said.

“The bicyclist rode into the path of the oncoming Cadillac and was struck” the email added.
Napier was taken to a local hospital with critical injuries.

No charges have been announced. Further information is not being released at this time.
