Boy, 12, Arrested In Melrose Elementary Burglary

St. Petersburg Police say a 12-year-old boy broke into Melrose Elementary School several times while it was closed for Hurricane Irma.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — While most kids were enjoying a few days away from campus thanks to Hurricane Irma-related closings, St. Petersburg Police say a 12-year-old boy kept stopping by Melrose Elementary School.

He’s now in hot water because authorities say he broke in multiple times. At some point, police also say he helped himself to a laptop and fire extinguisher.
