Update: Body Found in Mirror Lake ID'd

St. Petersburg Police said a city of St. Pete maintenance worker found a dead body at Mirror Lake Tuesday morning.

Update: Detectives have identified the body found this morning in Mirror Lake as that of Brian Bennett.

According to police, his father, who resides in the state of Washington, was notified Tuesday afternoon.

Investigators said there are no signs of foul play. 

Earlier: Around 7:30 Tuesday morning, St. Petersburg maintenance workers spotted the body of a man floating in Mirror Lake, about 35 feet off shore. St. Petersburg Fire and Rescue and Police were able to retrieve the dead body from the lake.

According to St. Petersburg Police, the body is a white male who, based on identification found on the remains, was 33-year-old.

Police said they would release the name of the man once next of kin have been contacted.

There are no immediate signs of any injuries or homicidal violence to the body, but homicide investigators are on scene conducting further investigation, police said.

The Medical Examiner's Office will be responding and they will determine the cause of death.
