Edge District Road Closures Planned Saturday: St. Pete Officials
Roads will close Saturday in St. Petersburg's Edge District for the CRIT Championship Tour criterium bike race hosted by Orange Belt Cycling

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — Road closures are planned Saturday in the Edge District as the CRIT Championship Tour, a criterium bike race hosted by Orange Belt Cycling Series, comes to town, according to a news release from the city.
The new race will bring professional cyclists — six men’s teams and four women’s teams — from around the world to the city.
Lane closures along the race route will be put into effect for the safety of riders.

Traffic changes include:
1st Avenue North

- One north lane will remain open to westbound traffic at all times.
- SunRunner will have a temporary stop created on the north side of 1st Avenue N. at 13th Street (north of the existing stop in front of the police headquarters; the existing stop will be inside the closure and not available for passengers.)
- Remaining south lanes will begin to taper at Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Street and shift lane closures to the one north lane open.
- Lane closures will begin Saturday around 3 a.m.
Central Avenue from 11th Street North to 16th Street North
- Parking will be unavailable starting Friday.
- Central Avenue will close to traffic Saturday around 5 a.m.
- Expect Central Avenue to reopen to traffic Saturday around 10 p.m.
Baum Avenue from 11th Street North to 13th Street North
- Parking will be unavailable starting Friday.
- Baum Avenue will close to traffic Saturday around 5 a.m.
- Expect Baum Avenue to reopen to traffic Saturday around 11 p.m.
- Pedestrian access points at 11th Street, 13th Street and 15th Street will be available at all times.
13th Street North between 1st Avenue North and 1st Avenue South
- The area will be closed to through traffic starting Saturday around 5 a.m.
- Access to Ferg's will be from 1st Avenue S. at 13th Street into the bar’s parking lot only.
- Expect the road to reopen Saturday around 11 p.m.
