The Pier Has To Wait Until 2023 For Inaugural Shamrock Fest, Mother Nature Canceled 2022's
A couple St. Paddy's Day celebrations scheduled for Saturday in Tampa Bay have been canceled because of possible incoming thunderstorms.
ST. PETERSBURG, FL — The St. Petersburg Pier has canceled its inaugural Shamrock Fest scheduled on Saturday, March 12, because of possible bad weather headed to Tampa Bay, a public relations employee told Patch.
According to the National Weather Service, Saturday's chance of rain in St. Pete is 90 percent with a possibility of thunderstorms developing during the morning and afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 32 mph.
If you already purchased your tickets, refunds are available.

The Pier staff emailed Patch saying, "Ticket buyers will be contacted individually and offered a full refund or have the opportunity to exchange their tickets to the Pier's next event, "FIESTA: Cinco De Mayo," celebration on April 30."

Another Saturday St. Patrick's Day festivity that has been canceled or rescheduled due to the expected bad weather is Tampa's River O' Green celebration. It will take place on Sunday.
