Woman Killed In FL E-Bike Crash While Crossing Road

A 54-year-old woman on an e-bike was hit and killed while crossing 22nd Avenue N., St. Petersburg police said.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A woman on an electric bicycle who was hit and killed Tuesday morning on 22nd Avenue North has been identified as Edelina Rivas Fleita, St. Petersburg police said in a news release.

The crash happened as the 54-year-old was crossing 49th Street N. around 7:15 a.m.

She was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The driver of the vehicle that hit her stayed at the crash site and cooperated with investigators.

The intersection of 22nd Avenue North and 49th Street North was closed for several hours during the investigation but has since reopened.
